Plotline

The winged ones have never lived in complete harmony as myth has told. In the realm of Mists, they have fought among each other, splitting their kind into separate groups. The cause of this split has been lost in the passing times and has been long forgotten, just like the winged ones existence.

Upon Earth, humans have their lives, never really giving thought to the winged ones. The only source for the knowledge of them rests within The Lost Books. They winged ones are classified as fable, myth, and just stories. The books describe the winged ones as the creators of grace itself. They are creatures of beauty, and vast knowledge. They once resided upon earth, long before the human race. They took to the skys with their wings of velvet feathers, never involving themselves in pointless quarrels that lead to violence. Within the first years that man became known upon the earth, the winged ones fled with the fear of being shunned and killed for their precious wings. It was then when they vanished, the few men that knew them named them the only thing that could live up to their grace; Angels.

The land of Mists knows history in a different way. There was never peace between the Angels. There was never a time when they shunned quarrels and blood shed. It was what they lived for, though many tried their best to remove this instinctive killing. Thus, the split began. The angels who fought this killer instinct, the 'Light', and the ones who embraced it, the 'Shadow'. The battles between sides were catastrophic. There fighting ways were the ways to eliminate the other. Some angels learned to generate dangerous, magical swords from their inner strength, making them lethal. Others used specially wielded swords, made to be feather light, and able to have the users power funneled into the blade, creating a powerful strike, powerful enough to remove one's wings.

For years, after the angels left earth to live among their own realm, the angels destroyed their numbers to almost nothing as the confinement of the realm drove the angels to destroy the other for existence. That has been the life of the angels in Mists. They fight over their disagreements, and then exterminate each other for dominance of the realm. In the recent years, another war has broken out upon the angels. The Light and Shadow throwing every ounce of their energy at their opponents. The high amount of energy being ignited through the air chewed through the edges of Mists like pollution. The battle was in full swing when the exterior shattered, taking the lives of the angels.

On each side, a few surviving angels were sucked through passageways where they have been wandering for some time. For the years of wandering, parts of the angel's souls slowly rubbed away, leaving them with only half of themselves. When the passageway finally reopened, the angels were released in a familiar, but very different world; Earth.

From the years wandering the dark passageways, the angels now find themselves able to hide their wings when they wish, and being drawn towards a certain human. Over the years that the Angels had been wandering the passageways, their faded souls found their ways into the infants of humans, gifting them with a hidden invisible power. The power, not able to be used by the humans, is the calling for the angel whom they share a 'Soul Link' with. If the human is to die, so will the angel who is linked with them. The only way for the Angel's to survive, is to protect their human.

Upon becoming more vulnerable, the sides have quickly formed between the angels once more. The Light has a difficult time getting by within this world as humans thrive on fighting and there is enough of it within the world. The Shadow, they thrive upon Earth. They fit in within the raging world and now understand how to rid those Light; Kill their humans. Will the Light be able to protect their humans while trying to keep away from their vicious instincts? Only time will tell.

Hey everyone! I'd like to say Happy New Years! There are some new things I'd like to point out! Maykie is now apart of Soul Guardians Staff! She's gonna be helping with new ideas and getting the site cleaned up. Contests, In character awards, and a few more things are going to be added! I'm hoping this year is going to be a good one for Soul Guardians! I'd like to persuade everyone to advertise the site to get new people and more characters upon the site!

Rules & Information

Maroon= newly added rule
Green= updated rule
~~Black~~= removed rule

General Rules
1. Be kind to all members. Don't fight over random and pointless things. This also means don't make a fight about something that happened in character.
2. Staff members have the final say in disputes. Do not back talk any staff member.
3. Cussing is allowed but don't over do it.
4. Mature themes may appear in this forum. Please put a warning in the title if the post gets mature.
5. No powerplaying or god modeling! Message the admin if you have a question
6. At least 150 words each post. A word counter is provided within the posts to help with this.
8. Use proper english while posting. No chat speak within posts. No w/, u, r, idk, or anything like that.
9. Wait for your character(s) to be accepted by a staff member before posting
10. You can have as many characters as you wish as long you keep them active.
11. Display names need to be some type of formal name. Horseluver123 does not count as formal. The name does not have to be one of your characters. (e.i. Red, Midnight, Isabella)
12. All characters need to be realistic. They can't be born with orange hair or purple eye color.
13. No magical devices of ANY kind. Its a realistic roleplay, minus the angel part.

Angels
1. Can be any race, have any wing color, be male, female, young, old, it doesn't matter.
2. Are instinctively aggressive or violent
3. Angel's are not immortal.
4. All Angel's have a Soul Link with a human.
5. Strong Angel's can wield swords created from their inner power. The sword can kill anything and can go through anything. (think of a light saber)
6. Other Angels use swords that are light weight and easy to use.
7. Angels can fight with one another. Its how they are.
8. Angels heal at the same rate as humans and can die in the same way. Getting stabbed in the heart, bleeding out, or anything else that could kill a human. Angels can't get human sicknesses
9. Can hide their wings when they wish.
10. Can have relationships with humans. Angels can get pregnant with a huma. (Nephilim)

Humans
1. Don't have any special, just the normal average human being
2. Do not have any powers, and cannot turn into an angel.
3. Do not have to have a Soul Link with an angel
4. Can have relationships with Angels and other humans.
5. A female human can have a half angel child (Nephilim)

Nephilim
1. Are born from a Angel and a Human.
2. At age 16, they get their wings
3. Don't have the power like Angels do.
4. Some Angels find them abominations.
5. Do not have a Soul Link
6. Cannot have a side at first (inquire if confused)

Soul Links
1. This is the link between one Angel and one Human.
2. If the human dies, so does the Angel. Making the Angels as mortal as the humans
3. If the human gets hurt, like stabbed, the Angel will feel the pain as if they had been stabbed.
3. The Link between human and angel isn't activated until they touch. So if the angel never meets its human and the human dies, the angel won't be affected
4. Linked humans and angels can talk through a mind connection. Not mind read
5. You cannot play both the human and angel character that have a link

The Light
1. The term for the group of Angels that believe that they don't need anger and fighting to live.
2. Light Angels do not kill unless necessary. Try to refrain from violence as much as possible.

The Shadow
1. The term for the group of Angels that enjoy and are controlled by the aggressive instinct.
2. Shadow Angels are against the Light and aim to destroy them. Fight and sometimes kill for the joy of it.

Setting
1. This is set within Present time, in a large city.
2. Humans do not know the Angels are among them.
